Maami's Mess Street Food in Mylapore

Once upon a time the favourite hot spot of veteran music director Ilaiyaraja and actor Nagesh, Maami's Mess near the Kapaleeswara temple in Mylapore has stood the test of time

For the past forty years maami has been dishing out the yummiest of rice variations and special koyakotais, for just Rs 10! With about fourteen varieties of rice on offer and the only place in the city where you get ready made rasam rice, this is a bachelor’s haven. Curd rice, tamarind rice, brinjal rice, Chettinad kara kolambu rice, vegetable brinji and pudina rice are the main highlights of the place. Try the koyakotais, which are available only on Fridays, after the temple aarthi.
