But Sahar cops came in the way

First Abhishek Bachchan's supposed 'wife' had posted herself outside his residence on his wedding day claiming that she was married to him. A year later, a Bangalore-based man has set his sights on the actor's superstar wife, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan.

On Monday evening, Sahar police officials detained 25-year-old Manju Kumar for trying to get into the airport terminal to meet the actor. The man said that he was an admirer of Aishwariya Rai and had come all the way from Bangalore to marry her.

"On June 30, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) guards saw him loitering near the arrival terminal 2A,"said an official from Sahar police station.

"Suddenly he approached the guards at the gate and asked them to let him in as Rai was returning from Bangkok."

Concerned, the CISF guards decided to hand him over to Sahar police station. "Kumar told us that he is madly in love with Rai and wants to marry her. He also said that he had read in the newspapers that she was in Bangkok to attend IIFA awards. He thought that he might find her at the airport and so was hanging around at the arrival terminal," the official added.

When DNA spoke to Kumar, who is currently in police custody, he told us that he had especially come to Mumbai to meet the actor. "I want to marry her," he stated.

Senior inspector from Sahar police station, however, said that Kumar is a little mentally imbalanced. "We have informed his family members in Bangalore and will hand him over as soon as they come here," he said.
