Karni Sena, the militant wing of Rajputs in Rajasthan, on Monday threatened that it would not allow the screening of the film Jodha Akbar in the State as it had scenes, which show the community in a poor light.
The Rajput Sabha of Rajasthan, a powerful body of the Rajput community in the State, had earlier warned the producer - director for allegedly distorting the history of the former rulers of Amer (Jaipur).
Narendra Singh, president of the Rajput Sabha, says that since the Amer ruler was under pressure from Mughals, he agreed to give his daughter. But instead of marrying his daughter, a maidservant whose real name was Heera Bai was presented as Jodhabai and her marriage was solemnized with Akbar. After marriage her name was changed to Mariam -Ul Jamani, who gave birth to Salim.
