A baby born with two heads created a stir at Sundar Nagari, Colaba, with locals rushing to get a look. Doctors say the child suffers from a rare condition, anencephalya congenital brain anomaly. The girl was born to Sarita Jaiswal at KEM Hospital on Saturday morning. Dr Pravin Bangar, senior administrative medical officer at the hospital, said the baby had been discharged but her mother is still being treated. Anencephaly is absence of the cerebral hemispheres. The absent brain is sometimes replaced by malformed cystic neural tissue, which may be exposed or covered with skin.
