Depression is a state of the mind of a sick patient whose mental functioning in altered in such a way that his brain detects something that is negative in almost everything in the surrounding such that the person cannot be able to carry out activities because of fear and anxiety about the unknown. The cause of depression is associated with a situation that happened in a person’s life which caused a lot of stress and pain such that the person in question never got over it because he still gets bad memories about what occurred while fearing that other things are also dangerous around the palce.

One example of a situation that is known to cause depression is when someone loses a loved one in a tragic turn of events that live with the victim for a long time after the death of the loved one because it is difficult for the mind to let go of all the memories and accept that the person is no longer alive. When this happens, the victim sinks into stressful moments thinking about the way things would have been different if the person had not died so untimely and that makes the mind to shut out reality and only focus on the illusion of everything that would have gone right making the patient lose touch with reality.

When a person is swallowed in stress and anxiety, he spends a lot of time going through mental suffering to the point where he thinks that suicide can be the only way to get rid of the suffering that he is facing at the moment regarding the loss experienced. However, it is important to realize that there are many different things that can be done by the patient, close family, and other professionals to ensure that the problem is handled carefully so that healing can be achieved.

First, it is critical that the perfect therapist should be involved in the procedure where full healing is the objective for the depressed individual. The therapist should work to ensure that the patient gains a willingness to go on with the therapy process because it is a difficult process that can require a lot of dedication on the part of the person suffering because he is supposed to allow for a change in mentality and thought process.

Secondly, the therapist can start to talk to the patient during therapy sessions to try and identify what exactly started causing the depression by analyzing the patient’s responses to particular questions about past life experiences that might have been scary or painful. Lastly, the therapist can begin to provide the right therapy procedures that can be successful in helping to cure the mind of the patient to function normally.
